Guyanese-born South Florida artist Dionne H.E. Polite will be among the featured creatives at the 5th Annual “Imagination Unchained” Juneteenth Concert, an evening celebrating Black imagination, resilience, culture, and artistic excellence.

Known for transforming Caribbean culture and everyday life into bold, vibrant visual storytelling, Polite’s work will form part of a multi-sensory experience blending music, poetry, activism, and visual art. Her paintings, rich with color and spirit, have become increasingly recognized in South Florida’s cultural scene.

The event takes place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center and marks the fifth anniversary of the “Imagination Unchained” concert series, produced by Next Weekend Productions, Inc. in partnership with the City of Lauderhill.

The evening will also feature acclaimed performers including jazz vocalist and poet Marlo Vashti, powerhouse diva singer Cande Rivers, social activist and Emmy-nominated hip hop artist Alexander Star, and dynamic host and vocalist Tre Henderson.

Organizers say the celebration will immerse audiences in live music, spoken word, visual art, storytelling, and interactive cultural experiences designed to honor both the struggles and triumphs of Black history and creativity. The event will also recognize recipients of the Patra Baker Technology Scholarship.

VIP and standard admission tickets are available for what organizers describe as a one-night-only Juneteenth experience centered on joy, freedom, legacy, and community connection.
