On March 31st, 2021, three persons were arrested, for cultivating narcotics at Wiruni, Upper Berbice River.
Charged are, Vahaley Sinclair, aged 19 years, a farmer of Wiruni Upper Berbice River, Reynard Gladstone age 21 years of Aroaima Upper Berbice River, and Tofan Shivnarine aged 44 years of Angoy’s Avenue New Amsterdam.
On Tuesday April 06, 2021 at 10:00 hrs. they were charged for Cultivating prohibited plants committed on Public Justice* laid under _Section 8 (1) (a) (1) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Control Act 10:10.
They appeared at the Linden Magistrate’s Court via zoom before Magistrate Wanda Fortune where they each pleaded not guilty and were remanded to prison until the 16th April 2021.
The matter was transferred to the Kwakwani Magistrate Court.
