Following his inauguration for a second term, President Mohamed Irfaan Ali stated that he would serve as a president for all Guyanese.
During the ceremony at State House in Georgetown, the president addressed the attendees, including those who did not vote for him. “I am not the President of some Guyanese; I am the President of all Guyana,” Ali said, adding, “To those of us who did not support me, know this: I am your president too.”
President Ali also outlined several key initiatives his government plans to pursue. He mentioned upcoming projects including the construction of new bridges over the Corentyne and Berbice Rivers, alongside the implementation of various social programs.
